As you may or may not know, tonight was my first opportunity to join the men and women playing sport at the church. I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know what a great and distinct pleasure it has been to play with people who genuinely care about each other. Words cannot express my gratitude for the words of kindness and encouragement my fellow team members expressed tonight.

From Tim Gray to the team captains I was consistently being impressed tonight. Their kind words to each other and just saying inspiring things to all of us to try harder and if we made a mistake or to say “its no big deal”. I know from coaching It takes a strong man to have tolerance with those that make mistake and it takes a stronger man to attribute those mistakes and say it’s ok it’s just game where here to have fun.

I have been fortunate enough to worship and be taught by some absolutely wonderful people over the past two years and tonight was a blessing meeting new people and feeling like I was a part of something. This is the type of fellowship that sends a man home happy after a 10 hour day, smiling his way through realizing that his time was well spent.

However, a Sarah Jenks ace and a Joey Phillips kill were part of an 11-1 run that gave Joey’s team the lead, 17-12, erasing any thoughts of an easy second victory. Nine of those points were on Mike Nash’s serve.

To their credit, Jake’s team battled back, coming within one point at 20-19, before Joey’s team ultimately prevailed 21-19.

In game 3, the two teams battled through 5 ties and 3 lead changes, before Jake’s team finally prevailed 15-13. Video of game 3 is posted below.

Directions to Eastland

Our game against Eastland is at the same location we played last year, near the intersection of 436 and Route 50. The gym is now called “Faith University”. Get directions here.

Deluge This Saturday

Invite your friends to our Deluge meeting this Saturday at 7:00. We’ll have a time of worship followed by some food, fellowship and Christmas games and competition.

Alumni Game November 22nd

Our season opens with our legendary Alumni Games. On November 22nd our current players will compete with past players keeping the dream alive in some friendly competition. The first game will start at 4:30PM Sunday afternoon.

Thanksgiving Tournament (Boys Varsity)

On the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, we are hosting Black Friday Madness, featuring 8 teams from throughout Florida. Our first game will be at 12PM on Friday. We will play a second game on Friday and one on Saturday as well. Invite your friends to come and help us get our season off to a great start.

Practice Schedule For November

For the month of November our practice schedule will be as follows:

• Middle School Boys: Mondays 4:30 – 6:30; Thursdays 3:00 – 4:30
• JV Boys: Mondays 6:30 – 8:30; Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 5:30 – 7:30
• Varsity Girls: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 4:30 – 6:30
• Varsity Boys: Mondays 6:30 – 8:30; Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 6:30 – 8:30
