In our first game of the week Jake Phillips’ team won 2 out of 3 games against Joey’s Phillips’ team. After winning the first game 21-17, Jake’s team found themselves with early leads of 7-4 and 11-6 in the second game, and things seemed to be sailing smoothly toward toward a second straight win.

However, a Sarah Jenks ace and a Joey Phillips kill were part of an 11-1 run that gave Joey’s team the lead, 17-12, erasing any thoughts of an easy second victory. Nine of those points were on Mike Nash’s serve.

To their credit, Jake’s team battled back, coming within one point at 20-19, before Joey’s team ultimately prevailed 21-19.

In game 3, the two teams battled through 5 ties and 3 lead changes, before Jake’s team finally prevailed 15-13. Video of game 3 is posted below.
